Metal Detector Reviews

When you are going to look for a metal detector, reading metal detecor reviews are a smart way to find out how different brands and models actually are out in the fields. Every manufacturer always tells you that their models are the best in any ways, but we all know that claims is not the same as facts.
Many metal detectorists write reviews of the metal detector they own or test and their honest opinion is gold for anyone looking for a metal detector. They usually have no hidden agenda for what they publish.
What should you be looking for in metal detector reviews?
Check out what kind of alerts the detector has, whether its an audio signal, beeps or a vibrating option. Preferably a variety of tones to let you know the different types of metal you are detecting.
Check out depths. Find out what depths the actual detector manage and if it can determine how deep the target lies. Some detectors can detect objects down to 10-12 inches but they are usually quite expensive. Be aware of that 90% of all targets
lies in the first 5-7 inches.
Find out what modes the machine has, most detectors have about 4 modes such as coins, relics, jewelry and prospecting.
Combining them can be very useful but using single modes is usually best.
Discrimination is very important. Find out what kind of discrimination feature the metal detector has. Junk metal comes into the metal range the machine is covering and with a discrimination feature you can block the trash from being registered.
Neuralising the natural magnetic fields that is in the ground is very important because this can confuse the detector to register these disturbances as metal pieces. Most detectors has a built-in feature that automatically adjust the detector to disregard these false signals. This feature is called ground balance.
Sensitivity is a cruical feature that every metal detectors must have. This must be adjustable to distinguish between false ground signals and actual metal objects.
Displays comes in many layouts and some of them are a bit complicated. Some have displays with simple measurements but easy-to-operate displays are in my opinion preferable.
Batteries. Obviously detectors that live long with AA batteries will be best but investing in chargeable batteries and a battery charger will be wise in the long run.
Metal detector reviews can be found online and I advice you to read several reviews of the models you are aiming for before you take a decision.
